Holiday in Ukraine

Kirillovka

Kirillovka

The most popular resort of the Azov Sea coast

kirillovkaIn my opinion Kirillovka is  is like 'stepping back in time' to when everyone went to the 'seaside' and spent all day on the beach. Even the 'attractions' are a 'little tame' compared to America, Europe and Briton. But on saying this, I do go to Kirillovka, 3 or 4 times a year and can honestly say that the days I spend there, I do enjoy!

Kirillovka or Kyrylivka  is a small town in south of Zaporizhia Oblast ( Region ) about 60 Kms from Melitopol and is well known throughout Ukraine,Belarus and Russia as a holiday resort on the Azov Sea (Ukraine).

Basically an urban-type village that has been commercialized over the years, combined with the absence of any industrial enterprises and the extraordinarily advantageous geographical location, relaxed atmosphere, all have formed a resort adored by the common people.

Within the resort, citizens of Poland, Germany, Israel, the USA, UK, Greece, Moldova and other countries spend their vacations (sometimes even several times a year). Some of them are immigrants from Ukraine, living currently abroad but still preferring Kirillovka as in their childhood they happily spent holidays here simply in tents or trailers. And the fact that this page is looked at in over 30 countries of the world confirms that interest in this resort on the Azov Sea exists and will only rise.

The Resort has more sunny days than Yalta in Crimea , the water temperature in July reaches 27-28 ° C. and is not deep (average depth of 6 meters and a Kirillovka maximum 14 meters), As said In my opinion the resort is a little like much of the country and is like 'stepping back in time' to when everyone went to the 'seaside' and spent all day on the beach. Yes , there are the 'disco's , etc but as said even the 'attractions' are a 'little tame' compared to America, Europe and Briton. But on saying this, I do go to Kirillovka, 3 or 4 times a year and can honestly say that the days I spend there -- I enjoy!

The largest attraction is the Aqua Park complete with 34 park amusements: 16 for adults and 18 for children. The Radial placement of the water slides allows for watching over all amusements, while resting in the big swimming pool. After 2200 the Aqua Park becomes a Disco!

The one big problem I have with Kirillovka is the fact that Credit / Debit cards are not widely accepted and there is a serious lack of ATM's within the resort , which results in a very large queue of people wanting to 'withdraw cash'

You wll find Hotels and guest houses offering rooms in various price categories from "Economy" to "luxury. There is no need to 'book; a room because as you arrive to the resort you will find many who are only to happy to offer you accommodation , they are all standing at the local bus station or near the main entrance to the resort.

I would recommend staying in one of these 'Ukrainian self catering guest houses' in Kirillovka , yes  a) they are basically accommodation in a room with beds, a small wardrobe, table and a few other things. b) the showering and shaving is done in the 'yard' and c) there is one kitchen for all.

But they are cheap with the 'added bonus'  of sitting in the morning within the the 'court yard' with your fellow holidaymakers having some breakfast in temperatures of plus 25c is wonderful fun , I have done this 'many a time' and can highly recommend it and it is another good way to 'saviour the flavour' of Ukraine!

But I does not matter where you stay because the sea is is always 4-10 minutes away.

To give you an idea of cost the last time I go for 3 days R&R every year to  Kirillovka  ( apart from the day trips ) with my partner and son, I found a place offering one room with 3 beds. air conditioning, fridge etc for $2.50 a night each! Yes only $7.50 for 3 people a night by the sea.

The easiest way to get to Kirillovka is to arrive to Melitopol  by train and then bus or taxi. If you are requiring assistance please contact me
